THOMPSON FALLS – The Lady Hawks met Eureka on the court on Friday night during a home battle, sweeping the team 3 to 0.

Eureka began the first set placing two points on the board but the Lady Hawks were unwilling to get shown up on their home court and took the lead away from them. The game continued in a fight for points, teetering the point total from one team to the other.

Lady Hawk Logan Beckman slammed an ace for Thompson Falls, closing up the gap 15 to 17.

The ladies continued furthering their lead and took the first set 25 to 22.

The second set started off in favor of the Lady Hawks, with the girls keeping the lead throughout the match.

Their teamwork and determination helped them take the set 25 to 20. With only one more set left to take the game, it was apparent the Lady Hawks were not going to give up.

Again they took the lead early on and displayed a very strong start to the match.

Under the pressure Eureka began to fall apart, falling further behind with each point the Lady Hawks bashed out.

With a last minute effort to catch up, Eureka managed to bring the score within a handful of points to Thompson Falls but their run ended there with Thompson taking the match, and ultimately the game, 25 to 20.

Shasta Wilson had 10 kills and 9 digs, while Shey Hannum had 10 kills, four aces and six digs. Beckman brought in another five kills, nine digs and two aces and Autrey Hannum had three kills and five digs. Adding three kills and 14 digs to the point total was Madison Fitchett and Angela Padden got low for 10 digs. Erica Sorlie added seven digs to the team’s total.

The team played Troy earlier in the week and brought home another victory, setting the tone for the game against Eureka.

In the game against Troy, the girls won 25 to 12, 25 to 15, 21 to 25 and 25 to 19.

Wilson had 14 kills and three aces; Shey Hannum had nine kills and one ace; Beckman brought in eight kills and one ace; Autry Hannum had eight kills and one ace; Padden had an impressive 14 digs; Fitchett had two aces and two kills; and Sorlie had a whopping 11 aces.
