Phyllis Irene Bright

Phyllis Irene Bright, born January 3, 1936, passed away on October 10, 2013, peacefully at home with her family at her side. Phyllis is survived by husband John Bright, having celebrated 60 years of marriage on June 7, 2013; their three children Terri Totzke, Cindi Bailey and John W. Bright; seven grandchildren Kristen, Angela, Nicholas, James, Shawn, Nicholas B., Annie and six great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by son Garry Bright.

Phyllis was born in Shaft 1, Mono County, California to Hubert and Theresa Cahill. She has two brothers, Kendall from Louisiana and Eugene from California. Phyllis and John retired to their dream location in Plains, Montana in 1993. She loved knitting, gardening, collecting and family gatherings. Phyllis and John hosted a family reunion this past June in which all her family was able to attend. She enjoyed her friends and the Grange and Red Hat Society.

Today, pancreatic cancer took an amazing, life loving, and strong woman. Her affinity for life has been matched by very few and she and her pink cane will be deeply missed by anyone who knew her. She always talked about every obstacle in her life as a blessing or an opportunity. We love you Phyllis Bright, heaven certainly gained a firecracker and we hope they’re ready for you.
