Noxon volleyball rides wave toward end of season

NOXON – The Lady Red Devils played two games this week experiencing both a win and a loss.

In the first game against Superior on Thursday, October 10, the ladies lost the game 3 to 0. Despite their efforts to gain a win, the ladies luck would change later in the week when they played Two Eagle River.

Noxon had three kills in all with Asiah Jensen bringing all of them in. Zoey Osborne gained the only block for the team and they brought in six digs – splitting them two each between Sara Webley, Jessie Camara and Katelyn Martens. Beth Ulrich had three assists for the team and Ulrich also brought in the only ace of the game.

In the game against Two Eagle River, the tables switched completely and Noxon swept the team 3 to 0 (25 to 8, 25 to 8, 25 to 7).

The ladies had a very impressive and commendable 21 aces.

In all, Noxon had 14 kills with Zoey Osborne leading with seven. Osborne also had the only block of the night. The Lady Red Devils had seven digs with Michelle Zavoianu, Nicole Zavoianu and Jessie Camara getting two a piece. Noxon had five assists with Bethanie Ulrick getting all five. Nicole Zavoianu led the team with nine aces.

Head Coach Teri Wilkinson could not be reached for comment.

The girls will next play Valley Christian on Thursday at home.
