Thompson Falls volleyball continues advancing
THOMPSON FALLS – The Lady Hawks had a very busy and successful week as they begin to prepare for their upcoming tournament play. Although a few weeks out, time is moving by fast and every chance to play benefits the young team.
Their first game of the week was against the Plains Trotters, where they won 3 to 1 (25-14, 25-14, 20-25, 25-11).
The Trotters started the game with some points but the Lady Hawks have played this game already and fought back. The team continued to stretch their score and held a significant lead. It was apparent that both teams were strong – in the end it came down to who wanted it more.
The first set went to Thompson Falls. In the second set, the Lady Hawks started with the first few points. After tasting a small spoonful of defeat in the second set, Plains gave it their all, catching up to Thompson Falls. With only three points in between them, both of the teams played well.
However, Thompson continued to extend their lead, taking the set.
In the third, the set was a back-and-forth game. As one team advanced, the other caught up. Thompson Falls led in the beginning but the Trotters were hungry for victory and fought back, doubling the score. They continued until they took the set away from the Lady Hawks.

The ladies also played Mission, winning 25-12, 25-11, 25-14 helping to wrap up their successful week.
The team played Libby on Tuesday night but scores were unavailable at the time of press.
“All the kids are stepping up in their roles. They are doing a great job filling their roles,” said Head Coach Sandra Kazmierczak.
The team is moving ahead steadily and continues to improve in their individual roles and as a team, although sometimes emotions may get overwhelming.
“Sometimes they get a little bit too emotional and are hard on themselves but they have to be reminded that they are young and they are doing the job right,” said Coach Kazmierczak.
The team will play Friday night at home against Bigfork. With their first Friday night game of the season, the team will finally have a full two days to rest.
“We have not had a weekend off so it’ll be exciting to have two days off. They should be rested,” said Coach Kazmierczak.
