James Harvey "Harv" Scott

Beloved father, grandfather, great grandfather.

James Harvey Scott, Sr., of Windsor, Colo. Passed away on Sept. 17, 2013. James was born on Feb. 2, 1923 in Raleigh, Mo. to Edward and Elisabeth Scott. James was raised in Superior, Mont. He graduated from Superior High School where he was a noted athlete. James served in the U.S. Forest Service and then the Navy during World War II. After the war, James graduated from the University of Washington with a degree in engineering. He began working for U.S. Gypsum in Lewistown, Mont. where he met and married the love of his life, Agnes Katherine Zappone (deceased) on July 5, 1951. He began working for Johns Manville Corporation in 1967 and retired in 1986.

James was an avid golfer and was proud in his “hole in one” at the Studio City golf Course in California. He enjoyed coin collecting and being an integral part of his children’s and grandchildren’s endeavors. He is survived by his sister, Julia; four children, Barbara, Debbie, James and John; two daughters-in-law, Cheri and Lori; one son-in-law, Tim Suhrstedt; nine grandchildren, Joel, Hana, Lauren, Aubrey, Tess, Austin, Paige, Emily and Edward; and one great grandchild, Jael. He will be greatly missed.

Memorial service was held on Oct. 5, 2013 at 10 a.m. at the Good Samaritan Chapel, Water Valley, in Windsor, Colo.
