CFVH to host meeting on Affordable Care Act

| October 30, 2013 12:54 PM

With about two weeks of listening to a lot of ‘noise’ from the news media and Washington, Clark Fork Valley Hospital thought we would once again sponsor an informational meeting to inform Sanders County business owners and their employees about the facts of the Affordable Care Act otherwise known as Obamacare.

With the beginning of the individual mandate looming on January 1, we believe that all citizens should understand what it means to themselves financially, regardless of their personal feelings in regards to current law.

Clark Fork Valley Hospital has worked with their broker, Payne West and in particular our representative, Morgan Hirschenberger to understand how the law affects our employees and Sanders County residents. Earlier this month Clark Fork Valley Hospital co-sponsored some informational meetings with Morgan in Plains, Thompson Falls, and Hot Springs. Those who attended felt they were very informational and helpful, but Clark Fork Valley Hospital believes there is still a great deal of misinformation among the residents of Sanders County.

Therefore, Clark Fork Valley Hospital has organized a community meeting for both business owners/operators and their employees to be held on Thursday, November 7, at 6 p.m. at the Rex Theater in Thompson Falls. Morgan will present the basics of the Affordable Care Act and how it affects Montanans. He is not there to discuss the merits of the law, only to explain its current implementation and how it will affect the works and their employers in Sanders County. Clark Fork Valley Hospital encourages owners/operators and employees to attend.

Members of the Hot Springs, Plains, and Thompson Falls Chambers of Commerce have been invited to attend. Non-chamber businesses that would benefit are encouraged to RSVP for the event as well. Contact Russell Logan by noon November 5 at 826-4813 or email him at rlogan@cfvh.org to RSVP.
