THOMPSON FALLS – The Bluehawks faced off with Cut Bank on Friday, Sept. 6, a team that proved to be a strong force to compete with.

The away game brought the Bluehawks to a record of 1 to 1, the team adding their first loss to their total.

According to Head Coach Curt Kegel, Cut Bank was an opponent to keep their eye on. The team, which is settled far away from Thompson Falls, was thought to be a tough competitor.

“We had a couple letdowns on the line of scrimmage and there were some mismatches,” said Coach Kegel. “They were very big and very physical and they took advantage of our smaller kids. It was difficult for us to run the ball.”

Even with the hard competition, Thompson Falls played well against Cut Bank.

“Our passing game looked pretty good and we moved the ball pretty good,” said Coach Kegel. “My running backs ran the ball hard and lack of line backing was our biggest weakness. And Cut Bank’s defensive line was pretty doggone big.”

The team will play Choteau in the next game on Friday, September 13 at the second home game of the season.

The game will be another tough one. To gear up for the game, the Bluehawks are working on different formations and different looks.
