FLORENCE – The Trotters faced a tough opponent on their home court last week against the team from Florence. Despite strong showings from some veteran players, the Trotters were unable to hold off the bombardment from the opposing team.

The Trotter defense put up a valiant effort to defend their side of the court with Leah Thompson and Lily Huenink each coming up with four blocks apiece. The team ended up blocking ten shots in all.

Corle Morefield had seven of the 27 total kills by the Plains team while Felicia Earhart added an ace. Kimberly Earhart had 21 digs for the Trotters but in the end it was not enough to fend off the team from Florence.

Florence defeated Plains 25-27, 25-4, 25-17 and 25-17.

The Trotters next game was against Hot Springs at home on Tuesday. Scores were not available at time of print.
