In front of a filled homecoming crowd on Friday night the Superior Bobcat football team hit their stride against the Darby Tigers.

The Bobcats came out with a strong running attack and coupled strong decision making in the air from quarterback Wyatt Zylawy the route was on.

“One of the things I really like was the quarterback play,” Head Coach Allan Labbe said. “Great percentage passing, made good decisions and overall made some good plays that night.”

Zylawy finished the game completing 12 passes on 14 attempts for a total of 215-yards. Those yards included three touchdown passes to Cole Karow and another to acrobatic grab for six from Anthony Parkin.

“Cole, Anthony, and Tucker (Smith) all had wonderful nights,” Coach Labbe said.

Cole “Cole Train” Karow had a big homecoming night – the senior lived up to his nickname and racked up the yardage while running and more importantly gained a tremendous amount of yards after his myriad of receptions.

Coach Labbe also added that the offensive line played well and seeing both of his guards catch passes “was wonderful.”

“They did a good job,” Coach Labbe said of the 72-26 victory over Darby.

On a lighter note, Coach Labbe said he was happy to see his team manager, Lizzie LaPierre, win the title of homecoming queen. This week the Bobcats will hit the road and head across state lines to face Wallace – a team Coach Labbe said is always tough and always has strong athletes.

“We aren’t really sure what to expect,” Coach Labbe said. “They always have good players and I don’t expect that they’ve changed a lot of the things that they do. They like power and quarterback keeps and they like to play action passing. We just got to get ready and go out there and play football.”

While discussing the game, Coach Labbe said that he had an “enlightening” experience recently when it comes to coaching.

“If we score more points than the other team, we win,” Coach Labbe said. “And that’s our goal. We don’t know what they are going to come up with and I guess there are some coaches that don’t figure that out for a while. I might be the first one to come up with that.”

Kick off against Wallace is at 8pm Montana time.
