Sanders County golf competes at Loyola

Thompson Falls boys bring home third place, while Plains finished in eleventh place

LOYOLA – Both the Thompson Falls and Plains golf teams headed to the Loyola Invitational for a two-day tournament in Missoula. The invitational brought the golf season into full swing.

The team’s first tournament of the year proved promising for the Bluehawks and the boys brought home third place with a final score of 698.

As predicted, Caleb Bates, Dalton Hooten and William Gallivan led the Bluehawks to victory. Bates placed fourth place overall in the tournament with a score of 79-80—159.

Jake Smith and Greg Wadsworth also pitched in to give the Bluehawks a solid performance.

The Plains boys landed in eleventh place with a score of 498-448—946.

Cole Benson led the boys with 102-96—198, followed by Trent Brouillette with 136-107—243; Alan Ihms with 129-119—248; Chayton Lulack with 135-126—261; and Sam Rehbein with 132-130—262.

The Plains girls did not score as a team but both Jade LaDeaux and Hannah Hardcastle represented the Trotters. LaDeaux scored 122-120—142 and Hardcastle received 143-131—274.

Their next meet will be in Bigfork on Thursday, March 10.
