Hot Springs boys win by a landslide

HOT SPRINGS – In the case of the Savage Heat Track and Field team, home advantage truly does exist. Or maybe it’s the amount of incredibly talented kids the Hot Springs boys team has this year.

At the Dave Tripp Invitational in Hot Springs, the boys won with a score of 376 – 291 points ahead of Arlee who landed in second place.

The boys of Hot Springs can be spotted over and over again in the results.

Savage Heat Anthony Bryns took first place in the 100 meters with a time of 12.08, while Jarod White finished forth with 12.75. Trevor Paro came in sixth place with 12.99 and Nate Gray finished in ninth with 13.04.

In the 200 meters, Bryns took first place again with 26.19 and continued the trend into the 400 meters where he took first with 58.07. Jack Dolson secured third with 28.34 in the 200 meters and Nate Gray, Dolson, Kane Lawson and Joe DeTienne also placed in the 400 meters.

In the 800 meters, Hot Springs led the charts, with Tanner Hoff in first with a time of 2:23.66, DeTienne in second with 2.27.31 and Lawson in third with 2:27.71. Blaine Carr was able to secure fifth place with a time of 2:29.63.

The 1600 meters saw Carr take third with 5:24.20, while the DeTienne brothers finished off the pack. James DeTienne finished with a time of 5.30.71 while no time was available for Joe.

Joe also took third place in the 3200 meters, while Hoff secured first in the 110-meter hurdles with 17.55.

Dolson took third in the 300-meter hurdles with 55.04.

The Hot Springs 4x100 relay team consisting of White, Gray, Bryns and Paro, blew the competition out of the water taking first place with 48.74.

The 4x400 relay team continued the winning streak as the DeTienne brothers, Gray and Paro nabbed first place with 4:07.00.

In the throwing events, Joe DeTienne secured sixth place in shot put, while Addison Mueller took eighth and Kane Lawson took tenth.

Mueller also placed in the discus, taking sixth place, followed by Carr in eighth and James DeTienne in ninth.

The javelin saw a stronger performance by Hot Springs and Gray secured second place with a distance of 122, while James DeTienne, Carr and Mueller took sixth, seventh and eighth place respectively.

In the high jump event, Hoff, Dolson and Noxon’s Zach Osborne tied for first at 5.80.

White tied Superior’s Tanner Smith for second in the long jump, while Paro took fourth with 19-02.00. Lawson was able to place in ninth with 15.02.50.

As for the triple jump, Paro and White took first and second respectively with times of 39-09.50 and 39-06.50.

The Hot Springs girls landed among the top ranks as well, taking third place with a total of 68 points.

Rosa Dolson took fourth place in the 200 meters with 32.62 and also took third in the 400 meters with 1.17.73.

Chelsea Ramstad took third place in the shot put with 25-06.50, secured second place in the discus with a throw of 72-10, placed eighth place in the javelin and took twelfth place in the long jump. Dolson took sixth place in the discus with 66-08 and third place in the high jump with a height of 4.60.
