Noxon takes second and third place

NOXON – The Red Devils Track and Field team saw two meets this week. In the Dave Tripp Invitational in Hot Springs, Noxon girls secured second place with 84 points, while the boys took third place with 78.

The 100 meters had a strong girl performance with Bethanie Ulrick taking third place with 15.43, Kristen Webley taking fourth with 15.51, Zoey Osborne taking fifth with 15.55, Nicky Zavoianu taking eighth with 17.08 and Katie Chandler placing tenth with 17.80.

Ulrick, Osborne and Zavoianu fell to fifth, sixth and seventh place in the 200 meters respectively.

Jessica Eaton secured fifth place in the 400 meters and Jenna Langdon took third in the 800 meters with 3:02.59. Zavoianu took third in the 1600 meters with 7:14.52 and also took second place in the 3200 meters with 15:40.94.

Webley and Hilary VanVleet took third and fifth place in the 100-meter hurdles and switched roles in the 300-meter hurdles where VanVleet took third and Webley took fourth.

The girls 4x100 relay team consisting of Webley, Ulrick, VanVleet and Sara Webley took second with a time of 1:03.03, while the 4x400 relay team of Osborne, Langdon, Zavoianu and S. Webley took second.

S. Webley threw for sixth place in the shot put with a length of 21-08.50, while Langdon followed in seventh place. Chandler took ninth and Zavoianu rounded out the team in thirteenth place.

As for the discus, Langdon placed fourth with 68-01, S. Webley took eighth, Zavoianu tied for ninth and Chandler took eleventh.

Chandler and S. Webley placed sixth and seventh place respectively in the javelin, followed by Zavoianu, Langdon and Ulrick in tenth, eleventh and twelfth place.

VanVleet had a strong performance in the high jump and tied for third place with 4.40. Jessica Eaton tied for seventh with 4.00.

The long jump saw Osborne, VanVleet, Ulrick, Zavoianu and Eaton all place.

The boys also showed up in the results often.

Zach Osborne and Gary Wadman placed seventh and eighth in the 100 meters, while Nike Mueller and Clay King took twelfth and thirteenth.

BranDan Lockwood, Riley Fisher and Mueller placed in the 200-meter, taking fourth through sixth place.

Bradey Wilson placed second in the 400 meters with a time of 58.55 and took first place in the 1600 meters with 5:02.82, while Fisher took fifth in the 400 meters and Lockwood secured seventh.

Fisher also placed sixth in the 800 meters.

Austin Johnson placed second in the 3200 meters with 12:06.16, while Wilson took first in the 300-meter hurdles.

Noxon’s 4x100 relay team consisting of Sawyer, Mueller, Osborne and Wadman took fourth place, and the 4x400 relay team (Fisher, Wilson, Wadman and Johnson) took second with 4:12.00

In the throwing events, Wadman placed fifth, Sawyer placed ninth, Lucas Fitchett placed tenth and Clay King took eleventh.

Lockwood took fourth in the javelin, while Sawyer, Fitchett and King also placed.

In the high jump event, Osborne led the pack stuck in a three-way tie at 5.80 meters.

Lockwood led the pack in the long jump with a length of 16-02.50 in seventh place, followed by Fisher and then Sawyer and Mueller.

The track team also competed at the Kellogg Invitational.

Their Red Devils will travel to Thompson falls on April 17 to face off their rivals.
