PLAINS – In what started as a beautiful Saturday game day, the Trotters faced off Eureka at home.

Originally scheduled for a double header, the girls were unable to get through their second game due to poor weather. But that didn’t seem to slow the girls down – the ladies swept Eureka 11-0.

Eureka was only able to muster one hit as Trotter Tia Thompson’s pitches flew past the competition.

The Trotters were quick on their feet in the outfield and were able to get girl after girl out. In all, the game came down to an almost perfect display of power.

The game ended in a quick five innings and Thompson also secured two hits and three RBIs for the Plains-Hot Springs Co-op team.

Diana Woodword had two doubles and two RBIs on the game.

Other statistics included Danika Whitcomb 1-3, Jena Peterson 1-2, Sami Kinzie 1-3, Alex Green 0-3, Thompson 2-3, Josey Carr 0-2, Shaira Caldwell 0-2, Kristen Josephson 0-2 and Hailey Coe 0-1.

The girls will go on to compete in a double header against Ronan on Tuesday, April 15 at 4 p.m. and 6 p.m.

If all goes well, the girls will once again sweep the competition without breaking a sweat.

Currently Plains has a 4-2 record and the strong team continues to impress the crowd. Although young, the team continues to show their worth.
