ALBERTON - The PEAK Foundation (Promoting Excellence in Alberton-area Kids) is sponsoring Alberton’s first community theater production, Briar Rose. The performances will be held Friday, August 16 at 7 p.m. and Saturday, August 17 at 10 a.m. Both shows will be performed in the Alberton School Cafeteria. This comedy and musical is a spoof on the old Sleeping Beauty tale where a prince falls in love with a woman who falls into a 100-year sleep. PEAK is looking for kids and adults of all ages to participate.

Auditions will be held Wednesday, August 6, 2014 from 5 p.m. - 10 p.m. at the Alberton Elementary School located at 216 Railroad Avenue. Interested parties should come to the audition in comfortable clothing and shoes that will not slip off. The audition will consist of a brief, musical performance.

Rehearsals for the play will run Monday, August 6th-Thursday, August 14th from 5 p.m.-10 p.m. in the Alberton School Cafeteria.

The PEAK Foundation has teamed up with playwright Ann Brummer, musical director and composer Bradford Hagan, and director Brenda Kane to bring a one-of-a-kind theatrical experience to Alberton, Montana. The three theater professionals formed their relationship while working together in community theaters in the greater Minneapolis area.

The PEAK Foundation is a collaboration of locals looking to provide activities and events for the Alberton-area youth and community. Their mission is to provide excellence through community programs aimed at promoting academic, cultural, and physical activities that allow for positive and meaningful contributions to the Alberton community.

The PEAK Foundation community theater is sponsored by Mineral County Performing Arts Committee and The Washington Foundation.
