Suttorp of Thompson Falls earns degree

THOMPSON FALLS - A local resident has recently received their degree from Western Governors University. The university held its 27th semi-annual commencement ceremony in Salt Lake City on July 12 and celebrated the graduation of more than 5,500 graduates, including the graduation of Lee Suttorp of Thompson Falls.

The university awarded 3,085 undergraduate and 2,456 graduate degrees in business, information technology, K-12 teacher education, and healthcare professions, including nursing.

Suttorp received a B.S. in business management.

Under Secretary of Education, Ted Mitchell, delivered the commencement address. Students who were not able to attend the ceremony were able to watch the event via live video stream on the WGU website.
