Obituary; Robert Alex (Case) Harris

| August 14, 2014 1:43 PM

Robert Alex (Case) Harris of Superior, 31, went to be with his Father in Heaven Tuesday, August 5, 2014 while jogging.  He was born June 21, 1983 in Logan, Utah to Byron Alan Harris and Diana (Harris) Case.  He was affectionately known as Alex.

He moved to Boise, Idaho with his family after the death of his father and later to Superior, Montana where he was raised by Cliff and Diana Case.  Alex was one of two sixth graders chosen to go to Chicago by the Michael Jordan Foundation to meet with Michael Jordan one on one.  Alex graduated from Superior High School in 2001, active in wrestling, football, music and starred as “Lucky Dollar” in his class play.  That same year, he moved to Missoula where later Byron Alexander was born January 19, 2004 to him and Tara Kirkham.   Alex held his son proudly up high and when cameras flashed, he declared “Enough, the flash hurts his eyes”.   The protective love of a father shielded Byron.  Alex recently wrote in his journal that Byron was the best son a father could ever have.

His various jobs included fire fighter, snowboard instructor, construction worker, which he was especially proud of his work on the Hilton Garden Inn and Blue Canyon; chef extraordinaire that took him to Florida to train other chefs and customer service representative at DirecTV where he enjoyed helping customers solve their problems.

His supreme enjoyment was “hanging out” with his son.  He was active in playing guitar, drums, 4-wheeling, sky-diving, riding motorcycles, shooting sports, the great outdoors and video games.

He will be remembered for his compassionate heart, infectious smile, restless spirit and a passion for living life to the fullest.

He was preceded in death by his father Byron Harris, grandparents Donald and Edith Geren and George and Pearl Case.  He is survived by his son Byron Alexander Harris (10 years old): Angela Harris, sister (Missoula), Doug Case, brother (Missoula), Dawn Toy, sister (Chicago), Alan Harris, brother (California), Eric Harris, brother (Tennessee), Jamie (Harris) Munns, sister (Logan, Utah), parents Cliff and Diana Case (Superior),  Chuck and Jeannie Case, uncle and aunt (Superior), Lyle and Anna Case, uncle and aunt (Sparks, NV), paternal grandparents Robert and Virginia Harris (Logan, Utah) and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nephews and nieces from Montana, Utah, Nevada and various locations.

A private family gathering was held.  The family suggests that remembrances for Alex be made in the form of donations to an account to benefit his son Byron Alexander Harris at Mullan Trail Bank of Superior PO Box 10, Superior, MT 59872.  Condolences, memories and stories may be left for the family at dalyleachchapel.com.
