An update from Rep. Ingraham
It’s been a little over a year since I shared with you some resources which may be of value to you in helping to alleviate some of your medicinal concerns and struggles. And since it might be the last time I am able to pass along the information due to my term coming to a close, I did not want to miss this opportunity to share some information with you again.
With the health care environment changing at a rapid pace, Pfizer has made some changes to better meet the people’s needs. Pfizer has consolidated its patient assistance programs into a single program called Pfizer RxPathways (formally Pfizer Helpful Answers). This program simplifies and streamlines their patient assistance offerings while remaining committed to helping patients in need get access to their Pfizer medicines.
Pfizer RxPathways will continue to help eligible patients who are uninsured, underinsured and insured get access to their Pfizer medicines by offering a range of support services, including insurance counseling, referral to co-pay help and providing Pfizer medicines for free or at a savings.
The new Pfizer RxPathway program streamlines the process and now there is only a single phone number for patients to call if they have questions. For those patients currently receiving medicines through one of Pfizer’s patient assistance programs, you will not have to take any action to continue receiving your medicines. You will be automatically enrolled in the new program.
Another resource is PhRMA (Pharmaceutical Research and Manufacturers of America), a sponsored partnership for prescription assistance that matches struggling patients to a free or discounted medicine program called Partnership for Prescription Assistance (PPA). PPA was launched in 2005. If you don’t have prescription coverage and can’t afford your medicines, call 1-888-477-2669 or go to www.pparx.org. With more than 2,500 brand-name and generic medicines they might be able to help you.
If interested in finding out about various patient assistance programs that exist, including the Pfizer RxPathways you can go to www.PfizerRsPath.com or call 1-866-706-2400.
