Assembly of God church to reopen after facelift

| February 5, 2014 10:23 AM

SUPERIOR - The Superior Assembly of God Church has gotten two fine facelifts which will be celebrated and dedicated Feb. 9, 10:30 a.m. at the church (500 2nd Ave. East).

Following the dedication, snacks and beverages will be served. All are welcome!

Special guests, District Superintendent Alan Warneke and his wife, Lois, will attend. Pastor Warneke will deliver the message after being introduced by Pastor Rick Lewis.

The first facelift features two new church signs designed by K-Designs of Missoula. The main sign above the church entrance, symbolizes the whole Gospel message. It proclaims the risen Christ through Jesus on the Cross anticipating the resurrection and Easter morning with a rising sun in the background. The second smaller sign near the entrance details the church schedule (given below).

“They are so nice they will soon be recognized as land marks in our community,” Ed Chaberek said of the signs. While Richard Clark observed, the signs are a “fulfillment of the dreams and hard work of the parishioners of this church.”

Tony Deronnebeck, of K-Designs, his wife Ginger and two of their children Kyle, and Abbey plan to attend the dedication. His help has been instrumental in seeing the project to fulfillment.

Also, a splendid, new handicapped access ramp has been completed and put into service. It too will be dedicated. The ramp is the fruit of very hard work put in by volunteers Stan and Richard Clark and Pastor Lewis, all of Superior.

Pastor Lewis fondly and enthusiastically stressed the welcoming openness of the church.

“At our church you’ll find doors wide open to people from all backgrounds regardless where they might be in their spiritual journey,” Pastor Lewis said.

“Our goals are simple,” Lewis continued, “We are a group of ‘folks’ who desire to share the life giving hope of Jesus Christ with the people of Mineral County. We invite you to come-as-you-are and enjoy.”
