The Miracle Worker (In other words the story of Helen Keller) was one of the best performances by the Montana Repertory Theatre I myself have ever seen. I thought this because the story was easy to follow, it was all from the original script except they added projections of images (the most show were of what Helen was experiencing in her view point). Its cast was phenomenal. From what I observed at the Banquet, they all got along nicely and when forced with adopting a family mentality they pulled it off. I was particularly impressed with the manner they acted when faced with having no work with a blind character. It felt like a life style and raw emotion. And lastly it wasn’t amateurs doing this. These were very experienced and their acting skills were top notch. An example was Annie Sullivan played by Caitlin Mclae struggle to find some way to reach Helen and she made it feel like as if it were a real conflict you were looking down upon. No part of it felt forged.

Some high praise of some of the actors as follows:

Hanna Appell’s riveting performance of Helen Keller left me astonished and kept me into the story upon further investigation I found out Ms. Appeal was a junior in college which baffled me, but it worked great for her in the part.

Jim Gall’s (Captain Keller) performance was sound and was very emotional. He set off the tone that he was the leader of the family and what he said went.

Catlin Mclae (Annie Sullivan) was a powerful character and wasn’t afraid to defend her methods. She wouldn’t give up on Helen when all hope of reaching her was almost lost. And her troubled past allowed me to relate with that bond with her and Helen.

And Lily Gladstone (Kate Keller) gave off the distinct mother qualities we all can see a mom do to her young in this case Helen. She also gave correct responses to trail for instance when Annie Makes the daring move to isolate Helen from her parents after the agreement ends she stands firm and doesn’t cave to Annie’s pressure all she wanted was her girl back.

To the other cast members I thought your performances were sound and there were no flaws.

My final thoughts were I immensely enjoyed the play and every aspect of it. I hope to see more from the Montana Repertory Theatre and I am most thankful for the information from all of you and especially Jim Gall for all I could ask about the play. Thank you.
