Dixon

Is it spring yet??? My question every January and February. In my little valley the snow is very light, I’ve only been plowed out once so far, and the temperature is nearly 40 right now! The mountains are bare of snow...could be mistaken for the end of winter. BUT, of course, we need moisture, and I’m retired and only NEED to go out for medical appointments and social occasions and supplies. A good time to catch up on indoor chores.

Our guests for Brunch for Lunch last Thursday included Nancy Jo Howard, our “Information for Seniors” lady who travels to every senior center in the county, bringing help and advice along with her humor. Also, we were pleased to have Sanders County Sheriff, Tom Rummel, pay us a visit, assuring us we are not forgotten at this end of the county. He discussed needs and ideas for the Sheriff’s office.

We are missing some of our long-time members, due to sickness and other health issues. Our thoughts and prayers are with them.

Our meals for the rest of January will be:

Thurs. Jan. 16 Salmon patties, baked potatoes

Mon. Jan. 20 Polish sausages, mac & cheese

Thurs. Jan. 23 Roast turkey breast, potato casserole

Mon. Jan. 27 Pork Roast, mashed potatoes

Thurs. Jan. 30 Ham, creamy pasta casserole

All meals include vegetables, fruit, varied breads and dessert. Only $4 and take outs are available. Lunch is served each Thursday at noon, and dinner is Monday at 5 p.m. All ages are welcome--we even have a highchair.

Dues for joining the Senior Center are just $5 and payable to Marie Ardis--it’s time to renew, or join now.

Make a winter break to Dixon Senior Center...on National Scenic Highway 200!

It’s January with lots of rain and not much snow. It seems that every winter is a little different from the last. It is nice to have the moisture but I am not very happy with all the ice.

Our Center will be having their monthly Jam Session on January 18th is month. If you like to listen or play an instrument, sing or dance; come to the Center and join in. We will be having brunch on the 18th at 11:30 AM as well. You are invited to come for a meal and stay for the entertainment. Hope to see you there.

Our menu for the next two weeks is:
