Thompson Falls wrestlers work hard in preparation of divisionals

| January 28, 2014 12:58 PM

THOMPSON FALLS – The Bluehawk wrestlers set up a dual with the Savage Horsemen to see who could come out on top. After Plains took the championship at the Ted Kato, Thompson Falls was ready for another crack at them.

The team wrestled hard but came up short losing the dual 12 to 44. Despite the loss, the night was a good opportunity to get more time on the mats.

With the season quickly headed toward the divisional tournament, the wrestlers are focused on sharpening their skills and getting as much live match time as possible.

They were presented that opportunity at the Mission Tournament. The tournament provided some tough competition and was designed to get the wrestlers as many matches as possible. Wrestling up to five matches, the team was able to compete against a handful of wrestlers both new and old.

The team only has two wrestling matches left before the divisional tournament on February 8.

They’ll host a quad on January 30 for their last home event. The seniors will be recognized on this night in front of a home crowd of supporting fans.

From there the team will participate in the Plains Invitational. The goal of the tournament is to pit as many good wrestlers against each other to help determine the final seeding before divisionals.

The time is to be taken seriously since the clock is winding down – something the Bluehawks are planning to do.
