Red Devils burn out Two Eagle River for win

NOXON – The young Red Devils continue to prove themselves throughout the season and last week was no exception.
Noxon played Two Eagle River and came out of the District 14-C game victorious. The final score landed at 66-42.
The Red Devils gained a lead early on, outscoring Two Eagle by three in the first quarter.
As the game continued, the boys scored 25 points in the second quarter to Two Eagles 10 points. In the third quarter Noxon once again outscored Two Eagle by seven points and continued to outscore them by one in the fourth quarter.
The boys pulled ahead and were far out of reach deeming them victorious.
Oliver Grupenhoff was a force to be reckoned with putting up 18 points in all. Tanner Tammaro followed closely behind with 15 and Zach Osborne brought in eight. Trace Tammaro had seven points on the night and Grant Fitchett added six.
As the team went on to compete against Troy, Noxon would fall to the Trojans 35-47.
Although they started off with a lead in the first quarter, it wasn’t enough to keep ahead as they continued. The team scored five more points than Troy in the first but Troy came back and outscored the team 14 to 8 in the second. As the game continued, the Trojans continued the trend.
Grupenhoff was again the lead scorer with the only point total in the double digits with 20 in all. The rest of the points were split between Corey Tessier, Tanner Tammaro, Riley Fisher, Fitchett and Osborne.
The team went on to compete against St. Regis on Tuesday and was scheduled to face Charlo on February 1. Scores for the game against St. Regis were unavailable at the time of press.
