Barbara Eatherton
Barbara Eatherton, passed away on January 21, 2014 she was 87 years old. She was a resident at the Clark Fork Valley Long term Care facility. The staff and leadership did a tremendous job helping and caring for Barbara in her last days.
Barbara had moved to Plains, MT in the winter of 2008 from Medford, OR. She had lived there for many years off and on from college age until her move to Montana. She was born in San Diego, CA to her parents Leo and Lena Orvis in 1926. She was married to Jay Eatherton for 17 years until the time of his passing.
Barbara was a retired school teacher from the Gold Hill, OR grade school. After retirement she was active in her church and in her community. She loved to read and was often found with a pile of books by her side and one in her hand that she was in the middle of.
Barbara had 3 sisters and one brother, she is survived by her only son Glen Smith of Ashland, OR who was adopted by Marie Smith Barbara’s sister at age 7.
A memorial service will be held at Church on the Move, Plains, MT February 11, 2014 at 3:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers please make a donation to Clark Fork Healing Rooms
