GREAT FALLS – Bradey Wilson held down the competition at the State C track meet, bringing the only hardware for the Red Devils track team.

Wilson was a strong force to compete with all season, dominating most of Noxon’s meets, earning the team points along the way.

He placed fifth place in the 1,600 with a time of 4:36.28.

“He had a great run and he had a great year, too,” Head Coach Matt Havens said of Wilson. “He is already looking to next year and where he needs to improve.”

The team will only be losing three seniors so much of the experience gained this year will continue on to next season. Overall, the season was a success for the Red Devils team, bringing in many revelations along the way.

“When I look back at the year, I was really surprised how many kids finished out the season,” Coach Havens said. “They worked really hard and learned how to compete at a new level.”

The athletes continued to work towards a goal they held throughout the season, constant improvement from meet to meet and they were able to complete that goal.

“We had the same goal all season: Get better each week, always do your best, lastly, remember to have fun,” Coach Havens said.

In his eyes, the biggest accomplishment and the thing that stood out most was that the kids had fun during the season, while they worked towards progression.

Every week, the athletes gave it their all on the track and field and continually pushed forward.

Coach Havens is already looking forward to next season.

“I can’t wait for next year,” he said.

The team will start focusing on what needs to get done in order to get to state next year when school picks back up in the fall.

From there, the hope is the hard work will pay off and get more athletes to advance, however, their ultimate goal will reflect that of this year: constant improvement, giving it your all and always having fun while competing.
