Obituary; John Russell Johnson

| June 6, 2014 1:06 PM

John Russell Johnson was born in Jackson, MN, July 25, 1947, the first son of Robert and Bernice. His brothers are David, Bobbie and Ronnie.  John has four children, Chad, Jonathan, Brianne, Jennifer.

John was attending the University of MN when he left to join the army and go to Vietnam. When he returned he left Jackson for Bellingham, WA where he got an engineering degree, and went to sea as chief engineer on boats. His love was the waters of Alaska where he went for salmon and king crab.

John and Charlayne moved to Paradise, MT in 1998. They both love this small town and the people here. The mountains John could see from his chair were a comfort and blessing. Watching the weather come over the hill was a joy. John even enjoyed watching the traffic go by our house. He would say “mail truck is late,” or “there goes Patrick for his mail,” or “Carmin is on her way to work.”

John passed away May 20th at Clark Fork Valley Hospital.  Graveside services were held Saturday, May 31 at the Paradise Cemetery.

Arrangements entrusted to Sunset Hills Funeral Homes, Plains & Thompson Falls.
