Chamber Chatter
Ma Nature is playing havoc with our precious 3 month window of opportunity for the tourists. Going-to-the-Sun Road in Glacier National Park STILL isn’t open making it a shorter season than ever for our friends in Hungry Horse, West Glacier and other towns on the fringe of the park. If there is a silver lining in this moisture, it might be that the visitors stay in our neighborhood longer. When you see out of state plates and you’re comfortable talking to strangers (cold-calling, in the sales world), greet them and ask how their vacation here is going! Suggest that they stop at the St. Regis Visitors Center for a plethora of family activities that we have to offer. And if this is outside your comfort zone, just smile, wave and say, “Howdy!” as that will exhibit the charm they know Montanans have.
Last item for June: please do what you can to shop for goods and services near home, please. Mineral County can’t cover all of our needs, but by-golly we can handle a strong portion of them. From horse feed to hardware, lumber, groceries, medical, real estate, wedding locations, engineering, white water rafting…... And thanks in advance.
