THOMPSON FALLS – The Lady Hawks played on their home field and brought two victories to their fans and supporters. During the game against Drummond, the ladies were able to sweep their opponents 12-2 and 16-10.

In the nightcap, pitcher Madison Fitchett shined in the competition as she pitched for six innings and went 3 for 3. Fitchett was the one to kick off the game as she stole home base for the first run.

After Drummond dished out a number of balls, Tamara Brubaker was able to make it to first. After another steal at home, catcher Kaylie Cox secured a run for the Lady Hawks.

With the bases full, a ball brought home another Lady Hawk for a total of four runs. Fitchett nailed the ball hard, sending two to home, bringing the score to 6-0.

The first inning ended with no errors and two left on base.

As they moved into the bottom of the second inning, Drummond had one hit but was unable to get any runs.

In the bottom of the third inning, Drummond came back to life, bringing in a handful of runs. With four now on the scoreboard and no errors, the team was ready to compete.

However, it wouldn’t be enough. The Lady Hawks were ready to take the win.

A number of balls brought Cox to first base, while bringing Lindsey Owens home for a score of 7-3.

The score ended at 11-4 with five runs scored on one hit, one error and two left on the base.

The Lady Hawks continued their strong performance ending the top of the fourth with a score of 15-4. They would come out with one more run, ending the game at 16-10.

The ladies then went on to compete against Ronan, where the ladies themselves got swept. The games ended with a score of 0-14 and 3-14. Although the girls gave it their all, they were unable to come out with a win in the doubleheader away from home.

They then played Loyola in an away game on Tuesday, May 13, however scores were unavailable at the time of the press.

Thompson Falls will finish their regular season at home in a doubleheader against Florence on Thursday, May 15.

From there they have a divisional playoff game towards the middle of May, which will decide whether or not they move on.

The girls will have to give it their all to ensure they have a chance to play at the Western BC Divisional in Ronan.
