SUPERIOR - State investigators came to Mineral County on Wednesday, May 28 to investigate the deaths of two people.

The Mineral County Sheriff's Office requested agents with Montana Department of Justice's Division of Criminal Investigation to look into two deaths near Superior, said a press release.

On Wednesday, May 28 at approximately 11:50 a.m., the Mineral County Sheriff's Office dispatch was notified of a deceased person in a rural county residence.

"The body was discovered by a neighbor who had checked on the residence at the request of an out-of-state relative who regularly stayed in contact with the deceased but had been unable to reach the person by phone," stated the press release.

Law enforcement officers arrived at the scene at 12:15 p.m. and discovered a second deceased person upon entering the residence, stated the release.

Currently autopsies are underway at the Montana Department of Justice's Forensic Science Division laboratory in Missoula. The press release said that state agents are continuing to assist MCSO with the investigation.
