Lady Red Devils play Lady Savage Heat in HS
HOT SPRINGS – The Noxon Lady Devils and Hot Springs Lady Savage Heat tangled in an inter-county District 10-C rivalry match last weekend.
The Noxon girls continued to build on a successful season and moved to 8-2 on the year following a three set victory over Hot Springs on Saturday, Oct. 11, with the match starting at 6 p.m.
The Lady Red Devils won the sets by scores of 25-17, 25-9 and 25-15.
One big reason for Noxon’s victory was the strong play of McKenna Krueger who had 20 kills and two blocks during the evening match for the Lady Red Devils.
Bethanie Ulrich also made her presence felt for Noxon contributing 20 assists and seven digs towards the squad’s victory.
Hot Springs junior Pia Heggelund sparked the Lady Savage Heat offense four kills.
Additionally, Heggelund added three aces from the service stripe during the match for Hot Springs.
Noxon combined on the night for 30 team kills, four blocks, 23 digs, 30 assists and three aces in the match.
Hot Springs compiled 10 kills, three blocks, 25 digs, 10 assists and four aces in the home match.
Next week the Lady Red Devils will face off against the Two Eagle River Eagles on Thursday, Oct. 16.
The match will be on the road in Two Eagle River and is scheduled to start at 5:30 p.m.
The Lady Savage Heat’s next match will be against the Superior Lady Bobcats.
Hot Springs will travel down to Mineral County on Friday, Oct. 17 and the road match is set to begin at 7 p.m.
