Letters to the Editor; Deception, a horrible thing

| October 17, 2014 5:19 PM

We have people who intentionally deceive for personal gain. There was a group who made it sound like non-partisan elections would be good for Sanders County in 2010.

According to election results, the people agreed with that idea. Now we have non-partisan elections where people don’t really know who or what political philosophy candidates are running on.

Even though the lines have been severely blurred between parties, at least the people would have a start toward determining what the candidate believes, and therefore how he would perform once elected, if he identifies with a party. This was all done under the concept of impartiality. Impartiality is a great goal, but nobody is impartial.

Everyone has a belief system, and that belief system determines behavior and judgment. Bottom line, the people deserve to know what that belief system is.

Again, a group is attempting to deceive the people.

Names mean things. The Sanders County PAC was a political action committee up until this last month.  In 2011, these people organized after deciding the Republican Party was no longer needed in Sanders County.

Immediately, the Republican Party was re-organized with new people who believe in true conservative and moral Republican principles, consistent with the party platform, contrary to the Sanders County PAC.

Recently, the Sanders County political action committee changed their name to: the Sanders County Conservatives, which might make you think they are conservative or even are the Republican party.  They put large ads in the papers promoting their candidates.

Don’t be fooled, they are not the Republican Party. Most importantly, they are promoting a Sanders County Treasurer candidate. Be careful! Sanders County does not want the chair of the Sanders County Conservatives political action committee controlling the Sanders County treasury.
