SUPERIOR – With the district tournament looming, the Superior Lady Bobcats are looming even larger over the volleyball court coming off a match where they came from behind in the fourth set against St. Regis to win.

Nadeia Ewounik had one of the best games of her career against the Lady Tigers according to head coach Beth Janney. Janney said Ewounik has come into her own as a leader on the team.

“She was a big contributing factor in that game,” Janney said. “She really got the team pumped up. The performance she gave was the best I’ve ever seen out of her. They are really playing well together as a team.”

Janney said she felt the team, despite a loss against Noxon over the weekend, was gaining momentum going into the district tournament this weekend.

“The level of play of every girl has increased just in this last week,” Janney said.

The district tournament starts this Friday in St. Regis. Janney said the finishing touches for the team would be to practice finishing out a game when they close the gap.

“I want them, when they put all that effort in, to be able to finish,” Janney said.
