Avista offers local scholarships

| September 5, 2014 4:26 PM

SANDERS COUNTY - Once again, a total of up to $7,500 will be granted to qualified local youth organizations this year as part of the Avista Fund. This is the fifth year that Avista will award grants from the Avista Fund to directly benefit the people who live in and around Sanders County.

In 2009, Avista started the Avista Fund with the Montana Community Foundation as part of our ongoing commitment to being a good neighbor in the communities around our Clark Fork project, which includes Noxon Rapids and Cabinet Gorge dams on the Clark Fork River.

Don’t delay. Applications for funds must be postmarked by September 26, 2014. The grants are scheduled for selection in October.  Examples of organizations or groups that may want to apply are:

• Youth sports groups and programs

• Youth arts programs

• Educational programs

• Social needs programs that benefit area youth

• Youth clubs and youth development organizations

For an electronic application, please visit the Montana Community Foundation website at http://www.mtcf.org.  Applications can also be picked up at Avista’s Noxon Natural Resource Office at 94 Avista Power Road, Noxon, Mt. or requested by writing to:
