Panthers and Tigers, oh my!

| September 9, 2014 2:41 PM

In other Mineral County volleyball action, St. Regis was defeated by Noxon three to one. The loss was not without an upside as one player demonstrated some significant offensive domination on the court. Gabby Moeller had 21 kills, three blocks and seven digs for the Lady Tigers.

At the opposite end of Mineral County, Alberton suffered a tough loss against Valley Christian losing three sets to one. The Panthers had 52 digs but it wasn’t enough to overcome the offense from their opponents. Head Coach Phil Taylen said, despite the loss, he was still encouraged by what he saw out of his players.

“There were some really good rallies,” Taylen said. “There was good blocking. They had a lot of kills. We need to work on better court coverage.”

The Alberton Lady Panthers will next play the Superior Lady Bobcats in one of the only cross county match ups of the season on Tuesday, Sept. 9.  The St. Regis Lady Tigers will face off against Charlo at home on the same day.
