Senior news
Dixon
There’s been a dusting of snow atop the Mission Range already, the Dixon Melons are making their last trip to the Farmers’ Markets--such a treat to wait for another year...apples are ripening (the bears should eat well this fall, with the huckleberry harvest also plentiful). I love the signs of fall--I also read that a top fashion authority says it’s fine to wear white after Labor Day now! I love a good change of seasons, which we enjoy in the Northwest.
We appreciate our visitor once a month, Nancy Jo Howard, who goes to each of the Senior Centers in Sanders County, spreading some humor, along with information which is useful for seniors. She is very helpful in letting us know of new programs and items which may be helpful to us.
You can take a trip over to Dixon for brunch this Thursday, Sept. 11
--quiche, pancakes, bacon, fruit and dessert.
Mon Sept. 15 will be egg rolls
Thurs Sept. 18 meatloaf
Mon Sept. 22 Ham, scalloped potatoes
Thurs. Sept. 25 Chicken and rice burritos
Mon, Sept. 29 Fish Chowder
Lunch is served at noon on Thursdays, and dinner every Monday at 6 p.m. The fourth Monday is Pinochle night, starting at 7. All ages are welcome for meals, and take outs are available.
Have a pleasant change of seasons. The birds seem to know it’s time to move on...to warmer country or to stake out my mountain ash tree again!
