Lady Hawks battle

THOMPSON FALLS – The Lady Hawks met their match when they went up against the Polson Lady Pirates in a Tuesday home game.

The ladies stayed neck-to-neck in their game, almost tipping the score in their favor after winning the third set, and almost taking the fourth set. Ultimately the Lady Hawks lost 1-3 (22-25, 25-22, 25-22, 24-26).

During the game, the ladies put up a very strong performance, with Shey Hannum bringing in a lot of points for her team.

The ladies had 35 kills, 12 of which Hannum made. She also had four of the team’s nine aces. Her sister, Autrey, was able to get five blocks, adding to the team’s total of nine. The team had an impressive 80 digs, with Logan Beckman bringing in 19. Beckman also brought in 27 of the 29 assists.

The ladies went on to compete against Ronan, where they flipped the score in their favor and one in 3-1 (25-22, 22-25, 25-22, 26-24).

Thompson Falls led with 44 kills, with 13 coming from S. Hannum. Shey also contributed three blocks of the team’s six blocks. Madi Fitchett had 20 of the 66 digs for the team and Logan Beckman helped her team with 37 assists. Sierra Sorlie slammed down five of the team’s 14 aces.

The ladies will continue on to play Plains at home on Thursday, Sept 18 and will have another home game on Saturday night against Bigfork.
