Red Devils run to victories at Arlee Invite

ARLEE – The Noxon Red Devils track and field team traveled to Arlee last week for the Brian Bachmeier Memorial Track Meet.

Noxon got strong performances out of both their boys and girls teams.

The boys took second in the competition with 127 team points and the Noxon girls took third in the girls meet with 101 team points.

Bradley Wilson who competed at the Top 10 Meet earlier in the week at Missoula, had a big day in Arlee placing first in the 400-meters, 800-meters and 300-meter hurdles events.

Wilson took first in the 400-meter event with a time of 54.29, the 800-meter event with a 2:10.65 and the 300-meter hurdles with a 44.27.

Gary Wadman took first in the shot put event with a throw of 37-8.

Wadman also placed fifth in the 100-meter dash with a time of 12.78.

In the 200-meter dash Cody Gable took third with a time of 26.62 and Zach Osborne placed fifth with a time of 27.12.

Gable also took fourth in the triple jump event with a jump of 35-5.

Osborne also took second in the high jump event with a jump of 5-6, sixth in the long jump event with a jump of 16-11 and sixth in the 100-meter dash with a time of 12.89.

Austin Johnson took second in the 1,600-meter event with a time of 5:14.71.

Johnson also placed fourth in the 400-meter event, crossing the finish line with a time of 57.91.

Riley Reishus placed third in the shot put event with a throw of 36-5.  

Reishus also placed sixth in the 1,600-meter event with a time of 6:03.99.

Nik Mueller took third in the 110-meter hurdles event with a time of 20.88.

In the discus event Chance Sawyer placed third with a throw of 89-11.

In the 1,600-meter relay the Red Devils finished third with a time of 4:09.02.

The Lady Red Devils also had a number of strong performances during the Arlee meet.

Cory Brodmerkle crossed the finish line first in the 800-meter event with a time of 3:41.57.

Brodmerkle also took second in the 1,600-meter event with a finishing time of 8:15.20

In the discuss event Brodmerkle placed sixth with a throw of 65-4.5.

Hilary VanVleet finished with the top time in the 300-meter hurdles event with a winning time of 57.34.

VanVleet also took home second in the 110-meter hurdles with a time of 21.59, in addition to placing in the long jump and triple jump events.

In the long jump VanVleet finished fourth with a jump of 13-1 and she also took fourth in the triple jump event with a jump of 27-1. Bethanie Ulrick placed third in the 200-meter dash with a time of 31.44.

Ulrick also took third in the long jump event with a jump of 13-8 and placed in the 400-meter event and 100-meter dash.

She finished fourth in the 400-meter event with a time of 1:12.52 and fifth in the dash with a time of 15.38.

In the hurdles Kristen Webley raced to two top finishes taking third in both the 110-meter hurdles and 300-meter hurdles.

Webley finished the 110 variety with a time of 21.65 and the distance hurdles with a time of 58.27.

Webley also placed fifth in the shot put event with a throw of 26-4.

Phalyn Fickas raced to a fifth place finish in the 200-meter dash, crossing the finish line with a time of 37.68.

In the 400-meter relay the Noxon girls took fourth place with a time of 1:01.31.

Noxon was the only track and field team representing Sanders County at the Arlee Invite but several squads from neighboring Mineral and Lake Counties were all in attendance for the meet held at Arlee High School.
