PLAINS – The Plains Library took some time to celebrate summer reading last week on Wednesday morning.

Young readers who took part in this year’s family summer reading program attended the celebration where they got a chance to decorate their own superhero masks and capes.

With the theme “Every Hero has a Story” the kids practiced their super hero poses as they put the finishing touches on their capes and masks.

In all 45 students, many donning a variety of superhero costumes at the start of the event, participated in the celebration of reading.

A number of prizes were raffled off to some lucky readers and all of the students received recognition for their scholastic efforts during their summer vacation.

This year’s summer reading program ran from June 15 through August 5 and the celebration which marked the students’ achievements was a fun way for the kids to come together as they worked to create their vary own superhero costumes.
