Lady Red Devils take out Victor Lady Pirates

NOXON – The Noxon Lady Red Devils started off the season with a win against the Victor Lady Pirates when they went to Frenchtown for the Class C basketball kick-off tournament.

Noxon gained a fast lead by scoring 10 points in the first and second quarters. They were able to quell the Victor defense and kept them to only six points by halftime. The girls continued their strong game in the second half, gaining another seven points through the third quarter and six in the final.

While the Lady Pirates were able to break through for 13 points in the fourth quarter, it was not enough to overcome the lead of the Lady Red Devils.

Delaney Weltz led the Noxon team, scoring nine of their points with Cory Brodmerkle close behind at seven.
