SANDERS COUNTY – Last Thursday, a sudden snowstorm came through the county, leading to traffic accidents throughout the region.

According to the Montana Highway Patrol website, troopers were dispatched to five accidents over the course of the morning. Most of the accidents were on Highway 200, with one each on Highway 28 and Highway 135. Only one had confirmed injuries; medical personnel from the Plains Ambulance were on site to deal with them.

Last week saw a sudden warming to the area, bringing lots of rain to melt snow. Thursday, though, a snowstorm came through the area, causing slushy roads and slick driving conditions through some areas. While the snow did not fall for long, roads were slick for much of the morning commutes.
