Alberton grade-school students got to go shopping at school last week. The school’s PTA opened a small “store” in one of the classrooms, filled with an assortment of small gifts.

“This isn’t really a money maker,” said teacher Kim Grebence. “It’s just a chance for the kids to pick out gifts for their parents,”

Grebence, who coordinated the store, said that the kids are given a sheet to fill out and bring money to school. Then they bring the sheet to the store and go shopping.

The gifts are also wrapped in the store. Then the kids take them home and put them under the tree until Christmas day.
