DIXON – Law enforcement personnel gathered in Dixon, early Saturday afternoon, in response to threats made against the police.

Lake County Emergency Dispatched received a call at approximately 1:00 Saturday afternoon where a man was making threats of physical harm to law enforcement officers; Lake County Dispatch also reported the caller said the suspect had threatened to shoot people in a private home.

Area police and the Sanders County Sheriff were dispatched to investigate and two deputies from the Lake County Sheriff were sent for mutual aid; troopers from Montana Highway Patrol also heard the call and responded to the scene.

According to early reports, the individual was threatening that he would ‘put them in body bags.’ Police gathered in the area to assess the situation and determine the severity of the situation.

According to information from the Lake County Sheriff’s Office, when law enforcement personnel arrived at the scene the suspect had fled. Sanders County law enforcement will continue investigating and following up on the situation, but the danger seemed to have passed. A stand down order was issued around 2-2:30 that afternoon.
