Obituary; Emma Lou Zamora-Williams

Emma Lou Sweeden was born in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma in November 28, 1936 to Lester and Millie Sweeden. She was the oldest of Six Children. Emma Lou is survived by her Two Children: Son, Paul (Sheri) Lunsford, Grandsons Brandon Lunsford and Danny Mealue. Daughter, Sharon (Terry) Naig. Brothers: Glen (Gloria) Sweeden, Ralph (Susan) Sweeden and John (Marilyn) Sweeden. Emma Lou has a large extended family with just too many names to mention. Emma Lou was well loved and will be greatly missed by all that knew her.

The Sweeden’s moved from Oklahoma and settled in Oregon in the early 1940’s. She met and married her first husband Don Lunsford in 1956; they had two children Sharon and Paul. They divorced in 1968.

Emma Lou worked and continued her education graduating from Western Business College; she went to work for the Yamhill Education Service District. She met and married Felix L. Zamora in 1971 and remained married until his sudden death in 1994. Emma Lou was still working at the ESD and began volunteering for the Yamhill County Sheriff’s Office and working with the Salvation Army in McMinnville.

Emma Lou retired from the Yamhill ESD in 1997 and continued volunteering with sheriff’s office as their Volunteer Coordinator. During this time she met and married her late husband David G Williams in 2003.

Emma Lou officially retired from her activities in the community in 2004 and moved with her husband David to Montana where she lived until June of 2014.

Emma Lou was preceded in death by her sisters Shirley Ann Sweeden, Betty Sue Brockman. Husbands: Felix L Zamora and David G Williams.

Emma Lou’s Service will be held February 7, 2015 at 1:00pm at the Calvary Chapel 1825 NW 2nd Street McMinnville OR 97128.
