Obituary; Leo Christian Gebhardt

Leo was born on June 29, 1923 in Balta, North Dakota to Christian and Kathryn Gebhardt. When he was a small child, his family moved to eastern Montana where he grew up and graduated from high school. He continued his education in Chicago.

Leo was a World War II veteran and served in the United States Army. Following the war he returned home and farmed. In 1949 he met Betty McGillis in Great Falls and married her. They moved to the Plains area in 1953 where he farmed.

Leo is survived by his wife Betty, daughters Ardella Wilkey of Battle Creek, Michigan, Kathy Mihelish (Phillip) of Firth, Idaho, Lois Wilkinson (Jerry) of Billings, Montana, Patty Gebhardt of Plains and Stacey Thomas (Rick) of Plains, Montana. Eleven grandchildren, sixteen great grandchildren, and two great great grandchildren. Brothers- Martin of Plains, Leroy of Ronan, and sister Ruth of Portland, Oregon.

Leo was preceded in death by his parents, brothers Clarence, Jim, Guy, John and Francis, sisters Helen, Evelyn and Angeline, and one great grandchild.

Leo died January 19, 2015 at Clark Fork Valley Hospital in Plains, MT.
