SUPERIOR – The Lady Bobcats came away with mixed results last week, dropping one match to Arlee but coming away with a victory against cross-county rival Alberton.

Coach Jeff Schultz said despite the loss, the team played well in the game against Arlee, only losing the decision by two points against a strong team. The final score was 61 to 59. Jordan Mueller had 21 points in the game and was aided by strong offensive performances from Danielle Ewoniuk, Marissa Koke, Celein Parkin, Kinzie Mueller, Hannah Hollenback and Katie St. Clair.

“The girls played well,” Schultz said. “I thought offensively we were pretty efficient. They were scoring at a high rate. It was a high scoring game. The girls were playing smart. They didn’t make a lot of mistakes.”

Against Alberton, the Lady Bobcats fared better. The team from Superior won 58 to 27. Schultz said the team was playing well on both ends of the court.

“We were playing good defense,” Schultz said. “We used the press and were very effective at it. The girls did a good job of playing together and controlling the temp of the game.”

The team played Sanders County rival Thompson Falls on Tuesday. Results of that game were not immediately available. Schultz did say he was expecting a tough match. Superior played the team earlier in the season and lost a close match.

“They have some very talented players,” Schultz said.

The Lady Bobcats will next face Hot Springs on the road on Thursday, Jan. 29.
