Obituary; Joseph Caligiuri

| July 8, 2015 4:20 PM

God gave us Joe Caligiuri on March 28, 1951 and on June 19, 2015 he called him home to ride in Heaven’s pack.(FTW and Ride it like you stole it.) An unfortunate sudden heart attack took our Shifty, Hippie, Biker friend from us all way to soon. That’s just the way it is, baby. Born to Peter Caligiuri and Alice Nahm Caligiuri, Joe was raised in Columbus, Ohio before serving a tour in Vietnam with the U.S. Army. Throughout his life, Joe was many things to many people - son, husband, father, brother, grandpa and friend/brother. And what we all knew was that underneath the long hair, great mustache and crazy tattoos, Joe had a heart of gold and enough love to go around. He was there when we needed him, armed with a big smile, a quick joke, and a helping hand to those in need. Joe was protective, generous, thoughtful, funny, caring, loving and well... a little crazy. A great carpenter, he was also a Meals on Wheels volunteer for twelve years. Preceded in death by his parents, father-in-law Lars, and too many “great brothers”. He is survived by his wife Bernice, sons - Pete (Casey), Evan (Jenn), and Shane and three beautiful and amazing grandchildren - Kassidy (9), Shawn (8) and Emma (6) and “just waiting for the next one!” Survivors also include sisters - Gloria (Bob) and Terie and brothers Gary (Park Ranger), Johnie (Belinda), Dominic, Mike and Vincent and of course, mother-in-law Viola and many nieces and nephews. We’re going to miss you, Joe. Honey, I will love you forever, miss you until we meet again, and there will never be anyone twenty four-seven like you. See you on the other side. What a sucker for animals, just don’t push it! While Vinnie and Dyna are kind of blue, I know that Paulie and Angel were there to meet you. A memorial will follow at a later date - likely September. Memorial ride details...later. Sorry for any miscommunication on the viewing and advertising. 10 - 4... Over and Out.
