Tri-State Tournament held in Trout Creek

TROUT CREEK - Over the weekend the Annual Tri-State Tournament took place in Trout Creek.
Held by the Clark Fork Bass Anglers, the tournament drew anglers from all over.
The competition was a buddy competition, which meant a pair of two anglers would work together to catch five bass each day.
The goal was to come away with the heaviest combined weight of all the bass caught each day.
A maximum of five bass were allowed per team each day.
In addition, each team would enter their heaviest bass to be weighed each day.
Either smallmouth or largemouth could be entered.
The rules stood as such:
Minumum boat length of 12 feet and a minimum of a 7.5 horsepower engine.
The entry fee was $150 per team.
The first place team would win $1,500, second $1,200, third $900, fourth $550 and fifth $300.
There was also cash payouts and option pots.
Friday night, the anglers all signed in and at one point they all gathered and numbers were drawn to find their teams their section of water.
During the weigh-ins, which were held in the afternoon, spectators would gather around as the teams’ bass were weighed by Clark Fork Bass Anglers members.
Anglers would laugh and compare each others catches and would discuss or tell stories about the day.
Sunday, after the anglers had turned in their final catches, the prizes were awarded to the top finishers.
