Trotters go to State Tournament

KALISPELL - Friday night, the Trotters went head to head with the Bigfork Vals. The first half of the game went to Bigfork with a 19 to 17 advantage, but the Trotters were close behind. In the second half of the game Big Fork charged ahead and finished with 43 points, Plains with 34. The game lasted well past 11:00pm in the Flathead High School gymnasium.

Hailey Phillips scored 15 points to lead the Trotters. Leah Thompson was close behind with 13 points and Kayla Holmes scored nine points.

Earlier in the week on Wednesday in Kalispell the Trotters won their game against Deer Lodge.

The first quarter went to the Trotters, who scored 15 points in the first quarter. Kayla Holmes scored eight of the points. By the end of the game, Holmes scored a personal best of 15 points. Hailey Phillips scored a close 13 points.

By the end of the game, the Trotters came out on top with 55 points, Deer Lodge with 33.

Proceeding the win on Wednesday, the Trotters played against Ronan, Thursday, in the Flathead High School gym in Kalispell to take another win.

The Trotters held a 12 point lead in the fourth quarter against Ronan, but Ronan scored and closed in with with three minutes left in the game, tying it up at 40 points. The Trotters scored two points from two sets of free throws, coming away with a winning score of 42 - 40.

The Plains Trotters came away from the Western B Tournament in the second seed position for the state tournament in two weeks at Great Falls.

Despite the loss against Bigfork on Friday, the Trotters will not have to play a challenge game against the third place Ronan because the Trotters won earlier in the week against the Maidens.
