CSKT Water Compact

While it may be true that - and lawful for - a tribal member of the CSKT Corporation to serve as a Legislator in Montana, it is NOT true that the privilege of being a “Tribal Council Person” confers governmental authority or power over any NON-tribal matters, or NON-tribal lands or other resources. That is plain, simple logic.

I was told by Senator Windy Boy that, while I could be a tribal member (apparently even us white people can join), I would not be allowed to serve on their equivalent board of directors, the Tribal Council. Something, I suppose, to do with “dna”... “dna discrimination”? The next realm Democrats may assert as evil?

Thus, now that I understand the logic from the perspective of business and corporate “status”, I have no quibble that, for example, Senator Windy Boy may serve as a Montana Legislator, and has a privilege in the CSKT Corp that I do not have.

But, I DO have a quibble over what the CSKT Water Compact confers on a mere corporation, incorporated in MT as a company, and not as ANY kind of government. The Montana Constitution only recognizes one government with the power to legislate and execute laws that affect all Montana people, and has any effectual, lawful relevance.

Would Democrats in the MT Legislature vote to allow Exxon or any other “Big Corporation” to control all subterranean resources (oil, gas - even ground water)?

Or would they demand that Georgia-Pacific or other timber companies control all forest lands in Montana - Federal and State?

I think NOT!

So, why the virtually complete “lock step” by Democrats and some Republicans to allow a mere corporation (CSKT Corp) to completely control ALL of Western Montana’s water?

Such illogical - and contradictory - conclusions on the parts of 32 of 50 Montana Senators, the Governor, the AG, Denny Rehberg, and others, simply defies believable logic!

The actions of the 32 who voted for the CSKT Corp. Water Compact defeats what should be intelligence, and hence destroys any claims they may have as legislators with wisdom.
