LaDeaux takes first in St. Regis tourney

ST. REGIS – Sanders County golfers made the trip to Mineral County to compete at Trestle Creek Golf Course in St. Regis last week.

In the girls competition it was the Lady Hawks of Thompson Falls who came out on top in the team event, while Jade LaDeaux of Plains shot the lowest round of the day, taking first place in the tournament with a score of 97 on the day.

The Lady Hawks took the team competition of the St. Regis Invitational with a combined score of 474.

Brooke Jacobs, Elsie Brown and Jessica Bronner of Thompson Falls all finished the invite with top ten scores to help drive their team to the top of the leaderboard.

Jacobs finished third with a round of 106, Brown took ninth with a 122, and Bronner shot a 123 to end the day in tenth.

On the boy’s side of the tournament it was Dalton Hooten of Thompson Falls who ended the day in first, shooting a round of 73.

Hooten’s winning round helped the Bluehawks take second in the invite with a team score of 343.

Caleb Bates of Thompson Falls also finished in the top ten, shooting an 87.

Cole Benson of Plains led the Horsemen squad, finishing his round with a score of 85 tying for sixth with Vincent Bird-Webster of Ronan.

The St. Regis Invite concluded the regular season schedule for both the Thompson Falls and Plains golf teams.

Both groups of golfers began postseason competition at the divisional tournament on Monday.
