Superior woman killed in car accident

ALBERTON – A Superior woman was killed on Friday, May 22 near Alberton after she apparently lost control of her Ford Explorer SUV on Interstate 90. The accident occurred Friday afternoon around 5 p.m.

Montana Highway Patrol reported the 23-year-old driver lost control of the vehicle after apparently losing a tire. The vehicle struck the median and overturned down an embankment before coming to rest on its roof.

The victim was apparently not wearing a seatbelt and was declared deceased at the scene of the accident.

There were three other occupants of the vehicle who were transported to a local hospital. The male occupant and two children were treated for minor injuries and released from the hospital.

The name of the victim has not been released.
